The Scientific Research Authority is an integrated scientific system comprising specialized research centers and support departments with extensive experience. The Authority works to support and develop scientific research in various vital fields by providing an advanced scientific environment that contributes to the production and application of knowledge to serve society and promote sustainable development. The Authority is a cornerstone in building a scientific and knowledge-based society by empowering researchers, stimulating creativity, encouraging innovation, and fostering local and international collaboration. This contributes to providing practical scientific solutions that meet development needs and keep pace with the changing times. The conference reviewed the most prominent outputs of the project and the results of the interactive workshops, in addition to presenting the “Environmental Guide.”

Dr. Jamila Wathej Akili from the Center for Environmental, Water and Renewable Energy Research and Technology at the Scientific Research Authority participated in the final conference of the “Environmental Literacy” project, which was organized by the Mesopotamian Women’s Team under the auspices of the Supreme Council for Youth, in cooperation with the Syndicates of Geologists and Journalists, and with the participation of representatives of official bodies, academics and environmental activists.

Conference highlights: Objective: To review the outputs of the “Environmental Literacy” project and the results of its interactive workshops. Participating: Dr. Jamila Wathej Akili (Environmental Research and Technology Center, Water and Renewable Energy/Scientific Research Authority). Organizing body: Mesopotamia Women’s Team, sponsored by the Supreme Youth Council, in cooperation with the Geologists and Journalists Syndicate. Attendees: Representatives of official bodies, academics, and environmental activists. The conference focused on presenting the results of interactive workshops aimed at enhancing environmental awareness in Iraq.
